The city of Yonkers, New York is the fourth-largest city in the state and the largest city in Westchester County.
Located just two miles from Manhattan, this city of nearly 200,000 is a booming suburb of New York City.
Getty Square, the center of Yonkers, has recently been revitalized to take advantage of the waterfront that always existed. The waterfront includes a water taxi that transports residents to Wall Street in just under an hour. It also features several high-rise luxury apartment lofts with such amenities as geothermal heating and cooling, floor-to-ceiling windows, and sports courts.
Yonkers has drawn the attention of young professionals who work in Manhattan, but don’t want to pay Manhattan rental prices. Therefore, the area has begun to evolve into a hotspot of activity for young singles. Posh restaurants and clubs line the streets and provide a vibrant nightlife.
The Metro-North station is complete with a beaux arts restoration which commuters may feel at ease traveling to and from their destinations.
