Easton in Fairfield county, Connecticut

Easton, CT

Holding the position of one of Fairfield County's most rural towns, Easton has succeeded in maintaining its 18th century charm and seclusion.

This effort has resulted in a private and peaceful country setting with a wealth of natural beauty.

Easton has limited commerce made up primarily of fruit orchards, dairy and Christmas tree farms.

Aquarion Water Company of Connecticut owns large tracts of land within the town and this has limited development. The water company has preserved three vast reservoirs surrounded by 7,500 acres of pristine forest. Quaint farmhouses, early colonials and newer contemporary homes dot the breathtaking countryside.

Members of the Connecticut Golf Club and Aspetuck Valley Country Club are offered a variety of social and recreational opportunities, including world class golf courses. Easton also provides residents with parks, baseball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts and 125 open acres preserved for cross-country skiing, hiking, fishing and horseback riding.

The town itself has no major highways, but the Merritt Parkway and Interstate 95 are only a short drive away. Commuters can also make a brief 15 minute drive to catch a Metro North train to the heart of Manhattan.
