Huntington, CT

Huntington is a rural historic neighborhood within the town of Shelton, in Fairfield County, Connecticut and is the original colonial settlement of Shelton. It encompasses approximately 5 square miles.

The center of Huntington features a common green that was laid out in 1717, a cemetery, and two churches. Huntington is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It was named for Samuel Huntington, who among other political accomplishments, was a jurist, statesman, Patriot in the American Revolution, and a signer of the Declaration of Independence and Articles of Confederation.

Located just north of the Huntington Plaza Shopping Center is Brownson Country Club, an 18-hole golf venue. Restaurants in Huntington include The Cafe Plus, Wellington Restaurant, and Vincent's Italian Restaurant. Other attractions nearby are Indian Well State Park, the playground at Riverview Park, baseball fields and a hiking trail. Sunnyside Park offers picnic tables and a beach. Camping is allowed at the beautiful Webb Mountain Park.
