Preston, CT

Covering 31 square miles, Preston is a charming town in southeast Connecticut. Preston was settled way back in 1686, and was incorporated as a town in 1687.

At the time of its founding, it included much of present-day Griswold.

The modern economy of Preston relies mainly on farming and agriculture. Many attractive older homes punctuate the rolling vistas and fertile green pastures of this quaint rural town.

Preston's schools, town services and active community life have given it quite the reputation as a quiet, peaceful town, a place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The town features several working farms and a beautiful variety of historic homes on winding country roads.

Preston City Village Historic District and the Poquetanuck Village Historic District are both on the National Register of Historic Places. A busy recreation program makes sure citizens have activities year round.
