About East Hampton
East Hampton is a traditional New England town located in Middlesex County. It has a population of over 12,000 people. East Hampton includes the villages of Cobalt, Middle Haddam and Pocotopaug.
Once called Chatham, residents value the rich heritage of East Hampton, “Belltown”, where once more than 43 factories produced all manner of Early American bells. The Comstock Bridge, built in 1840, is one of three historical bridges in Connecticut.
East Hampton offers numerous recreational activities including Airline State Park (a rail trail), Hurd State Park and Salmon River State Forest. Lake Pocotopaug, a large lake and popular summer destination, is also located in town. The Connecticut River borders the Southwestern side of town.
