The town of Burrillville is touted as one of the best fishing areas in the state of Rhode Island. An outdoor enthusiast's dream, it is host to acres upon acres of hiking trails, bike paths, ponds, lakes, and streams.

The Burrillville bike path is a 1.2 mile, smoothly paved trail for walking, jogging, and, of course biking. In the winter months the trail can be used for cross-country skiing. The trail connects the villages of Pascoag and Harrisville.

Beginner hikers will enjoy such attractions as Black Hut Management Area which boasts 1548 acres of forest ready for exploration. Black Hut also has many marshlands, making it great for it birdwatchers. Most of the area is flat, making for an easy hike through the woods.

Burrillville's 57 square miles is composed of nine smaller villages: Harrisville, Mapleville, Mohegan, Oakville, Nasonville, Pascoag, Bridgeton, Wallum Lake and Glendale. Many of these villages were named after the mills that once occupied the area.

Since Burrillville is conveniently located in the northwest corner of Rhode Island, it provides easy access to amenities in nearby cities. Worcester, Massachusetts is an easy 35 minute commute from Burrillville. Providence, Rhode Island is just over a half an hour drive. Boston, Massachusetts is just over an hour away by car.
