Cumberland holds its place as the north-easternmost town in Rhode Island.

Cumberland was was also home to the Valley Falls Company, the predecessor of Berkshire Hathaway, one of the world's largest and most successful enterprises.

Today, the town's 28 square miles is home to more than 33,500 residents.

The Cumberland Public Schools system is responsible for the education of 5,000 students enrolled in grades K-12.

For the young and old alike, there are many recreational opportunities in Cumberland. The Blackstone River Bikeway is a free scenic path that follows the river and is great for bikers, joggers, and walkers.

The Blackstone River Theater is a non-profit cultural arts center which hosts music, dance, and folk art events.
