Lincoln, Rhode Island is located just 15 minutes north of Providence and was named after President Abraham Lincoln.

The town’s original settlers realized that limestone was in abundance in the area. Quarries were established and used for many years. Today, the Lime Rock Nature Preserve brings delight to botanists and geologists alike. Many rare plants, limestone, and marble can be found along the hiking paths that run through the preserve.

The Blackstone River makes its way from Massachusetts through the town of Lincoln. As a result, many factories sprang up alongside the river in the late 19th century. Many of those old mills have now been turned into trendy loft apartments overlooking the Blackstone river.

The more than 21,000 residents of Lincoln have four elementary schools available for their children in grades K-5 plus a middle school and high school.

Lincoln is a crowd-pleaser when it comes to entertainment. For those looking for some quiet time with nature, the Lincoln Woods State Park offers fishing, swimming, rock climbing and plenty of places to sit and relax.

The Twin River Casino is one of the nation's largest casinos. It offers more than 5,000 gaming positions, including slots, blackjack, and roulette.
