The town of Richmond, Rhode Island is located in the southwestern part of the state, near the coastal town of Westerly. Richmond is a beautiful, densely wooded area.

Included in the town's landscape is a 2,359-acre wildlife habitat known as the Carolina Management Area. Although the majority of the land is forest, there are also wetlands and agricultural land included in the territory.

Construction and engineering are common fields of work in Richmond. Providence is just 35 minutes away by car. The nearest Amtrak station is just six miles away, located in nearby Kingston.

Richmond is part of the Chariho School District. The name Chariho was created by using the first two letters of the names of the towns that comprise the district: Charlestown, Richmond, and Hopkinton.

Older children attend the Chariho Middle School, and the Chariho High School.

For its peaceful small-town atmosphere, Richmond attracts many.
