The village of Wood River Junction, Rhode Island is located within the town of Richmond. It is just 12 minutes by car to the southern coastal town of Charlestown.

Wood River Junction is considered to be one the coldest towns in the state due it's low-lying and flat terrain. Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy abundant fishing in Wood River Junction. Meadowbrook pond, otherwise known as Wood River Pond, is a popular destination for fishing and swimming. Wood River and Pawcatuck River surround the pond.
