Wyoming, RI

The small village of Wyoming, Rhode Island is part of the town of Richmond, and extends across the river to the town of Hopkinton. It is situated near the center of the state, however it is not far from the Connecticut border.

In 1970, Interstate 95 was constructed with an exit nearby the village. This has led to a slight increase in residential and commercial growth. The town has, however, maintained its quaint village atmosphere.

Many of the old mills and establishments in Wyoming have been placed on the National Register of Historic Places. The historic district boasts Greek Revival, Late Victorian, and Federal architecture.

Outdoor activities abound in Wyoming. The village is located just north of the Carolina Management Area – a great place to hike and observe nature. Wyoming also includes several ponds ideal for fishing and swimming.

Wyoming is part of the Chariho School District. Younger children in Wyoming attend the Richmond Elementary School located right in Wyoming.

.The school enrolls about 1,200 children, including more than 430 from the Career and Technical School.
