Just north of the county seat of Litchfield, Goshen is a picturesque rural town.
Thousands of visitors flock to the annual Goshen Fair on Labor Day weekend, sponsored by the Goshen Agricultural Society. Displays include livestock, poultry, and other animals, fresh fruits and vegetables, lawn and garden equipment, baked goods, artwork and antique tractors. The Goshen Agricultural Society uses the proceeds from the fair to fund scholarships for local high school students.
Goshen shares Regional School District 6 with the neighboring towns of Morris and Warren. Young residents in K-6 attend Goshen Center School. After graduation from GCS students attend Wamogo Regional High in Litchfield, with a renowned agricultural education center.
The Goshen Players produce spectacular community theater performances every spring and fall in the Old Town Hall. The group was founded in 1949 by professional and amateur actors who wondered what it would be like to produce an operetta.
